DENTON COUNTY, Texas — Between calls about broken water mains, carbon monoxide alarms and structure fires, firefighters in Texas rescued a horse Thursday that had fallen into a frozen pond.
Denton County Emergency Services said crews used a water rescue suit, roped the equine and walked the horse to safety.
“The firefighter was cold, but doing OK after getting out of the weather and warming up,” the agency said on social media.
The horse’s owners warmed her and said Rose is expected to be OK.
“Update on Rose, the horse who tried to go ice skating yesterday,” her owner said on social media. “She is doing well this evening and starting to act like her old self again.”
