POLK CITY, Fla. — A Florida woman joked about buying a new puppy on eBay, but conceded it was a bit snappy.

That’s because that was not a dog in her garage, but a 7 1/2 foot alligator.

And no, Cindy Frasier, of Polk City, did not buy the reptile on the online marketplace. But Frasier decided to have some fun on social media.

“I bought this new puppy off of eBay, but something seems to be wrong with him,” Fraiser wrote in a Facebook post on May 14. “Does anyone know if Cesar Milan works with this new breed, Chihauhator or Gatohauhau?”

Frasier could have used the famous dog trainer from Mexico.

She said she encountered the gator when she was heading to her golf cart, WFLA-TV reported.

“I came around a blind corner, to get on the golf cart, and dang near ran face-first into him, with a dog in one hand, and my camera in the other,” Frasier wrote on Facebook.

“This folks, is your laugh for the day, and he is the reason I didn’t get sunset photos last night,” Frasier wrote.

Frasier said the proper wildlife authorities were called, and “Mr. Snappy” was relocated, the Miami Herald reported.

“We don’t mind the small ones, but he was big enough to catch our little Chihuahua,” Fraiser told the newspaper.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website, an alligator is considered a nuisance if it is at least 4 feet long and a caller believes the reptile “poses a threat to people, pets or property.”

“There are situations when smaller alligators wind up in places that are not acceptable, such as swimming pools, garages, etc., and must be removed,” the agency said.
