LAKE PARK, Fla. — Travis Rudolph, a former standout wide receiver for the Florida State Seminoles, is facing first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder charges connected to an overnight South Florida shooting that left one person dead and another wounded.
Rudolph, 25, who was arrested just before 8 a.m. Wednesday, is being held without bail and is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday, The Palm Beach Post reported.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Rudolph is accused of firing shots at four people and striking two of them. The department declined to identify the man who died and did not share the extent of the wounded person’s injuries, the Post reported.
Rudolph was FSU’s leading receiver in 2015 and 2016, and finished his career with 2,311 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns before entering the NFL draft early, ESPN reported.
He went on, undrafted, to start one 2017 game with the New York Giants, where he recorded eight receptions for 101 yards, and was a member of the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad for a portion of the 2018 season, the Post reported.
