It’s been just over a year since the world and the country music industry lost Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry. He passed away in September 2017, and to honor his memory, Gentry’s wife, Angie, founded the Troy Gentry Foundation to help others in different areas that her husband really cared for.
To officially launch the foundation, the Grand Ole Opry is hosting a benefit concert on Jan. 9, 2019, proceeds from which will benefit a number of charities.
The concert will feature performances by Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery, Blake Shelton, Chris Janson, Dustin Lynch, Jimmie Allen, Halfway to Hazard, Justin Moore, Craig Morgan, Jon Pardi, Rascal Flatts, Jeffrey Steele, Neil Thrasher and more acts that will be announced at a later date.
The Troy Gentry Foundation is pretty much a middle mad that does the work to raise money for different charities. So for this event, proceeds will benefit the Opry Trust Fund, T.J. Martell Foundation, Make-a-Wish, and the Journey Home Project and will provide scholarships and instruments for music education in Kentucky schools.
Angie told All Access that the military, cancer research and music education were all causes that were important to her husband, so she wanted to make sure the foundation supports organizations that aid in those areas.
“Together, with some of Troy’s friends, I started the Troy Gentry Foundation,” Angie shared. “We were sharing memories together one evening and decided we wanted to do something to keep the spirit of Troy’s generous heart alive and honor his memory.”
“Troy was taken too soon, but we felt his dreams and dedication to helping others needed to continue,” she continued. “He was very passionate about our military and their families, about those in need to provide for their children, cancer research, and the continuation of music education.”
Tickets for the concert will be available on the Troy Gentry Foundation’s website.
Gentry’s bandmate Eddie Montgomery told PopCulture.com that he and Gentry had always promised that they would keep the band going should anything ever happen to either of them, and Montgomery is making sure to make good on the pair’s vow.
Kane Brown releases a new song tonight at midnight and his wedding video is the music video! How cute. Although it looks like he may have had to work on his wedding day, it makes the song that much more special.
The CMT Artist of the Year Awards happened last night in Nashville and this year was different than most. CMT decided to honor all the women in country music, new and old, by showcasing them and shining a spotlight on their amazing talents. Miranda Lambert was honored on the televised award show and when she got up to accept her award, she had an uplifting speech prepared to continue showing her love for all the women in the country music industry.
“I was so excited and proud when I saw this whole show was dedicated to these amazing women who have all inspired me,” she noted. “I’m thrilled to celebrate how hard we work tonight, and how much we are a community as women and lift each other up and respect each other.
“Not a day will go by that I don’t lift up and honor other women in this industry, and want to work with them and collaborate,” she continued. “And I hope they do the same. Because we have to be there for each other, and I feel that we are. It’s a small community and we’re all friends. So I appreciate CMT celebrating that tonight.”
Carrie Underwood is well into her second pregnancy and she revealed it definitely hasn’t been the same as the first go-around.
Carrie says, “When they say every pregnancy is different, it really is. Just different symptoms. I feel like this one is just a little harder on my body for some reason.”
Uh-oh! Seems like Tim McGraw might be playing a little too hard when he isn’t at work. He has two stress fractures in his right foot and posted it to social media with the caption “Too much spearfishing and beach volleyball…” Get better soon, Tim!
Well, I’m sorry to tell you that only 16 locations will carry the duck sandwich if you were looking forward to it and they’re in prevalent hunting areas in Georgia, Wyoming, Arkansas, etc.

Last night, Team Jennifer Hudson wowed the crowd with an incredible rendition of “God Gave Me You” in the Battle Rounds on The Voice with contestants Colton Smith and Patrique Fortson:
The Florida panhandle has been absolutely devastated after Hurricane Michael – and sadly many people are still yet to have been found.
Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line is from Ormond Beach where his parents still reside, but BK and his wife Brittney actually have called the panhandle home for a couple years now.
They’ll be headed to Florida today to help with some hurricane relief:
We had an inkling this was happening this weekend! So happy for this guy and his new wife Katelyn!
This is already turning into a huge 2019 for Thomas Rhett! He is currently up for Album of the Year at next month’s CMA Awards for Life Changes and not too long after that show, his new album is going to be released.
“I was in the studio for about two weeks about a month ago,” he tells ABC Radio. “[I] recorded half the record, [and will be] finishing it up in December, and we’ll hopefully have a brand new single from a new project out [by] February, March of next year.”
So far, it seems TR’s fourth studio album will have a bit of a retro feel.
“It’s nostalgic, in every way, form or fashion,” he explains. “From the fifties to the eighties to me growing up in the nineties, man…it’s kind of all over the place.”
“Which is kind of what all my records have been,” he adds, “and hopefully they always are. [I am] just pulling from a bunch of different inspirations and I think this is gonna be one of my best ones yet.”
October 11th is National Day of the Girl and to celebrate, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman came together to sing “Female.” Female is a tribute to women and the strength they have and National Day of the Girl is the perfect day to celebrate.
Jimmy Kimmel does it again with the Mean Tweets and making artists read them in front of a camera. It’s ruthless but hilarious. We love that these artists have such an awesome attitude about it as well. Warning** harsh language.
Hurricane Michael has completely torn through the Florida panhandle and we’ve seen the devastation on the news and in social media. It’s horrible, and even country stars have close ties to the beloved Florida gulf coast and panhandle:Hey everyone. Pray for my people. So many dear people I know are being affected. My mother and so many friends live in Mexico beach. And now it’s bearing down on Albany and Leesburg. — Luke Bryan (@LukeBryanOnline) October 11, 2018 Our little island is getting pounded by Hurricane Michael right now. This is our second home and we love this place. We are thinking about everyone down there and hope yall are ok! pic.twitter.com/oLKKuekyLG — Jason Aldean (@Jason_Aldean) October 10, 2018

Tim McGraw recently admitted he turned down a movie role to play Elvis in his 70s era, because it required Tim to gain 30 pounds and he just couldn’t bring himself to do that.
As for other movie roles – Tim says it has to be the absolute right fit for him to take it.
Talk about an amazing voice!! Kirk Jay has a mix of gospel sound and country music. He turned all 4 chairs around during his blind audition and something happened… when the judges turned all their chairs around, they didn’t fight to get Kirk on their team. Instead, Adam was fighting to get Kirk on Blake’s team.
Carrie Underwood for the longest time shared that she didn’t think she would ever feel like herself after her fall many months ago that caused so many stitches on her face.
While many were speculating certain photos showed the scar, it’s really only this one Carrie shared herself the other day that shows the “damage” the fall caused. Yep, still beautiful – and hey, scars give us character in my opinion!
