Country group Little Big Town took home the Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Original Song (“Good Afternoon”), the theme song for ABC’s “Good Afternoon America” last night. “Good Afternoon” was co-written by Little Big Town, Brett Warren and Brad Warren and was produced by Jay Joyce and recorded in Nashville, TN last summer.
“We are freaking out right now,” exclaimed Karen Fairchild. “Winning a Daytime Emmy award is something that we could have never imagined and we are incredibly excited and honored! Thanks so much to Monica Escobedo and Alan Ives at ABC and also our co-writers Brad and Brett Warren.”
Little Big Town will also appear LIVE on ABC’s “The View” this Wednesday, June 19 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET). The foursome will perform current single “Your Side Of The Bed” and appear in the show’s “Ladies Who Lunch” segment, featuring food created by Kimberly and seen on her GAC cooking show “Kimberly’s Simply Southern.”
“Your Side Of The Bed” written by Little Big Town and Lori McKenna follows up previous #1 hits “Pontoon” and “Tornado” and has been described as “stunning” and “…an unusually subtle power ballad.”
The video, released last month, quickly garnered over 1 million views and has been seen on Good Morning America, Billboard.com, Perez Hilton and ABC News, among others.
