In the latest case of the daughter of a country music star behaving badly, the 20-year-old daughter of Alan Jackson was arrested early Wednesday on charges of underage drinking and hitting a police officer. Alexandra "Ali" Jackson was a passenger in a Range Rover that was pulled over for speeding and tailgating south of Music Row, according to her arrest warrant.
While an officer was questioning the driver, the warrant says Ali Jackson got out of the car and made angry demands. Eventually, she hit the officer in the chest. Police noted that the woman had consumed a large amount of alcohol. She told police she had three alcoholic drinks, the warrant says. At some point, police said, Ali Jackson told them her father "would do anything I wanted him to do." Ali Jackson resisted when the officer attempted to handcuff her, the warrant says. She was charged with consuming alcohol under 21, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. She is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 23. Earlier this year, she had been the victim of a Facebook hoax claiming she was in a car wreck, according to the Taste of Country blog. Alan Jackson's publicist said the singer had no comment on the arrest. Alan Jackson celebrated the release of his latest album, The Bluegrass Album, Tuesday night at The Station Inn about a mile north of the arrest site. It will be released Sept. 24.
