Jimmy Fallon sure does have a lot of fun on his show, and he did just that last night with Taylor Swift. He put a skit together with her called "Ew!" which is supposed to be a spinoff of a Teen Nick show in which "Sara" and her friend "Natalie" play show and tell.
Hollywood Life reports, "Taylor kicked off her night with Jimmy by being a guest on his always hilarious skit “Ew.” Complete with big glasses and braces, Taylor did her best to portray dorky 13-year-old Natalie, who has a band-aid collection — but Taylor still managed to look stunning!
Jimmy had to really question the budding actress, but she finally confirmed that we will be seeing her perform at the 2014 VMAs on August 24. She told the late night host straight up,”I am going to perform at the VMAs.”
She certainly is in good company. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Beyoncé, 32, is set to perform as well, and receive the Video Vanguard Award. Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Maroon 5 are also all set to perform, making this a can’t miss event!
Speaking of Beyoncé, Jimmy then asked if she was planning on dropping a new album like Queen Bey did in 2013. While Taylor didn’t seem to keen on the idea, saying,”I don’t know that I would just pop one out,” she did hint as to what is to come.
Yahoo is hosting a special live stream event with the singer on August 18, at 5pm ET, and though she was tight-lipped and didn’t admit when new music is coming, she did say that we should be listening for a special announcement.”There could be one announcement or multiple announcements.” — Fingers crossed for a new album!
Not only is Taylor hinting at new music, her film career is taking off. She is set to star alongside of Jeff Bridges, 64, and Meryl Streep, 65, in The Giver, which hits theaters on August 15.
Taylor said, “It really makes me you think about the future, and where we are going as a society. For me to get to act for the first time in a dramatic role alongside Jeff Bridges, he’s fantastic.” — she even admitted that the two jammed out together!
