Actor Cory Monteith at the 2012 Do Something awards in Santa Monica, Calif. Monteith, who shot to fame in the hit TV series “Glee” but was beset by addiction struggles so fierce that he once said he was lucky to be alive, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room, police said. He was 31.
Cory Monteith's body was cremated Tuesday in Vancouver following a private viewing with his family and girlfriend Lea Michele. However, Monteith's father, Joe Monteith, claims he wasn't invited and is "totally devastated." Joe, who is divorced from Cory's mother, tells TMZ that he was informed of the cremation after the fact and didn't get a chance to see the body. "I always loved both my sons and am going to miss Cory very very much," he said. "I'm saddened at the fact that I couldn't have been there to see my son before he was cremated." Joe added that he was shocked to hear about his son's alleged heroin use.
