Country Artists Throws It Back To A Time When He Was A Little Cowboy

By Rare Country: The little boy in this photo looks right at home holding a BB gun while wearing a western shirt, cowboy hat and boots and pressed blue jeans. He’s sitting at the family fireplace at home in Florida just ready to spend a day outdoors living that country lifestyle. Three decades have passed since that photo was taken, and that boy has grown up to become a big country star who still wears pressed jeans and a cowboy hat and boots. His name is Easton Corbin, and he just shared that photo with his fans, along with a caption having a little fun with the title of his debut hit. He writes, “I don’t know if I’ll ever be ‘a little more country than that.’” You’ve got to hand it to Easton for sticking close to his country roots, though. Even when he switches things up a little bit, like he does on his latest hit, “A Girl Like You,” Easton still keeps the steel guitar and twang in his music. There’s a drum loop at the beginning of the song, and Easton admits he had to live with this song a little bit before he knew it was right for him. Easton tells Rare Country, “It’s a little different than anything I’ve ever cut. I tell the story that my [guy at the record label] pitched me this. He said, ‘You probably won’t like this, but I’m going to play it for you anyway.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, play it.’ ‘Cause sometimes you never know where you might come across a song you really love that they might think you don’t.” Easton took the demo of “A Girl Like You” with him, and it started to grow on him as he listened to it over time. He says, “I kept coming back to that song. I was like, ‘There was something about this song. I love the message. I love the way it makes you feel. The melody and the beat.’ I thought, ‘This is a little different.’” At this point in his career, Easton knows his fans are looking to him to keep his music country. He’s made a name for himself for keeping that traditional influence alive in his music, and Easton isn’t going to let those fans down. “You’ve got to be current,” Easton tells us. “You’ve got to stay up with the times, but you’ve still got to be yourself. I said, ‘I think this is a song that I can take and put my twist on and still have the modern thing. but still have what I do on it.’” No matter how adventurous Easton gets with his music, he’s always going to be a country singer. His thick accent makes it pretty much impossible for him to sing any other style of music. Easton says with a laugh, “I told ’em onstage [one night], ‘I could rap for you, and it’s still going to sound country.’” “A Girl Like You” is the lead single from Easton’s upcoming fourth studio album. We’ll keep you posted when he announces the details on that project’s release.

Miranda Lamber Reveals Her Source Of Confidence

When Miranda Lambert steps on stage she is a confident woman who has found her place in country music. However, as Miranda tells Kix Brooks on America’s Country Countdown, that is not always the case:

“I’m still looking for it. [Miranda laughs] I’m still like every other girl. I also have a slogan I say to myself: ‘Fake it ’til you make it.’ If I’m not confident and I need to walk out there and be confident, I just pretend to be and then somehow it just shifts in my mind. Like, it changes me to get confident.”

Thomas Rhett Reacts To Grammy Nomination

Thomas Rhett was nominated for a handful of Grammy for 2018 and as he shares, he’s just amazed at the nods and one in particular:

“I’m blown away to be nominated for a Grammy, especially be nominated for Country Album of the Year, because there’s a lot of really great albums that come out every year and we put so much hard work and time in the studio to this record, that to be nominated for a Grammy is definitely a massive cherry on top to a already incredible year.”

A lot of huge albums were released in 2017 but his one was one of the biggest and it’s being recognized as just that. Think he can take it home?

Nominees:

  • Kenny Chesney- Cosmic Hallelujah
  • Lady Antebellum- Heart Break
  • Little Big Town- The Breaker
  • Thomas Rhett- Life Changes
  • Chris Stapleton- From A Room: Volume 1

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards play out on January 28, 2018, live on CBS.

Dierks Bentley Announces Tour With Brothers Osborne & LANCO With Hilarious Video

After announcing his new “2018 Mountain High Tour” on Monday (1/22), Dierks Bentley sat with his openers Brothers Osborne and LANCO at his Whiskey Row bar and restaurant in Nashville and talked about the tour announcement video. In the exclusive clip on Entertainment Weekly, Bentley takes on the role of a dreadlocked shaman as he helps LANCO and Brothers Osborne search for enlightenment on a psychedelic-induced journey.

Dierks says of the video:

“The idea of doing something fun before to announce the video [tour] is probably something I initiated, but these guys were all game to come out there and spend, you know, like four or five hours in the woods…which says a lot. The fact that they would do that and be happy to do that alone says a lot.”

Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Party With Luke Bryan & His Wife In Mexico

By Rare Country: Unless you were in Riviera Maya, Mexico, over the weekend, you likely missed out on a really good time. As  previously reported, Blake Shelton and his ladylove, Gwen Stefani, spent time together on the beach in Mexico on Jan. 19, ahead of his headlining show at Luke Bryan’s annual Crash My Playa concert festival. Before the show, the cute couple went on a romantic seaside stroll, as seen in the Instagram fan shot below. Turns out that Gwen and Blake’s morning relaxation walk was just what they needed, because their night was filled to the brim with loads of fun and excitement. You see ,when Blake took the stage as a headliner, he was joined by his buddy Luke. Together, the two pals pleased an enormous crowd of fans with an entire set of cover songs including, George Strait’s, “All My Ex’s Live in Texas,” Hal Ketchum’s, “Small Town Saturday Night” and Garth Brooks,’ “Papa Loved Mama,” just to name a few. While onstage, Luke also rocked a classic mullet that looked similar to the one that Blake sported back in the ’90s! Nope, we’re not kidding. You can check out the fashion choice in the Georgia-born country crooner’s Instagram shot below. “Vintage BS,” Luke joked, alongside the hilarious photo that shows him covering up his Blake-inspired wig with a black Stetson. He also pairs a plaid buttoned down shirt with a flashy belt buckle, and raises up a Smithworks Vodka branded plastic cup, as if to mock his fellow country pal. Heck, even Luke’s wife Caroline got in on the lighthearted joke! Instead of donning a mullet though, she poked fun at Blake’s 2017 “People” magazine “Sexiest Man Alive” title, and sported a life vest with the words “Sexiest Man Alive” written across the front. “Blake Bryan,” she wrote on her Instagram page, alongside the photo that shows her standing next to her mullet-wearing husband. “Luke really wanted to capture the vintage Blake look … but he actually looks like Luke from our college days. #1998 #bluke #crashmyplaya.” Speaking of Caroline, she was also on hand during Blake and Luke’s jam session at the Crash My Playa concert event. She hung out on the sidelines with Gwen, according to the former No Doubt front woman’s Instagram page. “This is Instagram-worthy,” Gwen, who sported a denim jacket covered in rhinestones and a bohemian headband, can be heard saying in the clip above, while partying with Caroline. Gwen didn’t stay on the side of the stage all night though. She ended up crashing her man’s set with a rendition of her smash hit, “Hollaback Girl.” And, yes. Blake was right by her side singing along with the words, as seen in one fan’s Instagram video below. The two also ended their joint performance with an elongated smooch! Crash My Playa, which ran from Jan. 17-20, also featured performances by Sam Hunt, Maren Morris and fiancé Ryan Hurd, Brett Young, The Cadillac Three, Dustin Lynch, Maggie Rose and many more.

Dierks Bentley Gives Out Phone Number On Social Media

Dierks Bentley has always embraced having personal interactions with his fans, and now they have a new way to stay connected. On Friday (1/19), Dierks tweeted that if anybody needed to reach him over the weekend, they could call his “mountain line”: 970-426-5381. Upon calling the number, Bentley can be heard saying he was sorry to miss the call, but was up on the mountain right now. He then says to leave a voicemail and he’ll try to call back.

if you need to reach me this weekend 970-426-5381 (mountain line) — Dierks Bentley (@DierksBentley) January 19, 2018

The phone number’s Western Colorado area code encompasses the small town of Telluride, where Dierks wrote and recorded much of his new album, The Mountain.

He also shared it on his Instagram Story, reaching more people and probably getting way more phone calls than he expected.

His new album, The Mountain, will be out very soon. They haven’t set a release date yet but you can pre-order the album now so you know its right around the corner….

Huge news from one of the countries biggest superstars, Ed Sheeran! He took to social media today, Saturday 1/20, to announce that he and long-time girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, got engaged right before New Years! He says “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”

https://www.instagram.com/teddysphotos/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=embed_ufi

These two aren’t in the public eye very often but it wasn’t long ago that Ed Sheeran broke the internet when he took off his shoes and walked barefoot while his girlfriend wore his sneakers and he held her heels. Women everywhere loved him and men everywhere hated him for raising the bar. Chivalry at it’s best right here…

Eric Church & More Have Huge Plans To Honor Concertgoers at Grammy Awards

Even though it’s been months since the horrific events that happened in Las Vegas at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, we are still remembering and honoring those who died that day. And we will continue to every single day. Especially at big events like the Grammy Awards. Eric Church, Maren Morris, and Brothers Osborne are set to perform at the award show on January 28th and have planned a special Grammys tribute to concert-goers who were killed on October 1st at the 2017 music event. All three of those acts performed at the 2017 Route 91 Harvest Festival that weekend where 58 people were killed by shooter Stephen Paddock. According to the AP, the artists will cover a to-be-announced Grammy-winning song. “We wanted something that is universal,” says Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich. “We wanted something that spoke to the subject, which certainly this song does.” Church, who wrote “Why Not Me” after the shooting, called 2017 a “tragic year” due to the Route 91 shooting, as well as the terrorist bombing at an Ariana Grande show in Manchester, England. “In all honesty, there’s not a day that goes by since that day that I have not thought of it and thought of the people and the victims,” Church said. “That being our last show of the year, I took it in differently than I have maybe taken in other shows. I savored it. I remember everything about it.”

Back in October, right after the tragic event, Eric Church played the Grande Ole Opry in Nashville. He didn’t want to but did because one of the men killed in the shooting was supposed to be there that night at the Opry to see Eric Church, which prompted Church to write the song “Why Not Me” that you can listen to below.

Miranda Lambert Is Combining Music & Dogs During Every Show On Her 2018 Tour

Miranda Lambert, being the HUGE dog love that she is, has figured out a way to use her fame and music to benefit her foundation for pups. She has combined two of her passions – music and mutts- during her 2018 tour around the United States! In every community during her 24-city 2018 Livin’ Like Hippies Tour, Miranda’s MuttNation Foundation, will collect dog food, treats, supplies & cash donations for a local shelter at the “Fill the Little Red Wagon” activation, located at the entrance of each venue before the show.

Lambert explains her emotional response to being involved in dog adoption events:

“I get a rush and I cry all day long too because when I see, like, a perfect match made. This is a huge moment, so it’s just like that’s the stories?that’s so rewarding you know when a match is made like that and those babies went home.”

Jake Owen Brings Vegas Massacre Victim On Stage At Hometown Show With K92.3

Jake Owen’s first show of 2018 was definitely a different experience for most. He didn’t come out with the full band or with a huge light show. He walked out on stage and started just chatting with the crowd. His parents were there for the whole show sitting front and center. He did about 45 minutes of acoustic songs and requests before his entire 12 person band came out. People would yell out songs and he would play them. He even through it back to OLD songs from his first two albums like “Green Banana’s” which was released over 7 years ago.

Although it was an amazing and unique show for Jake Owen, the song “Green Banana’s” though sounds like it might be funny, it’s actually super moving and makes you think. Which set the tone for what happened right after. He started talking about Vegas, the Route 91 Harvest Festival, and that horrible night. Why he was there, what he saw when bullets went flying, and how that day on October 1st changed him forever.

Related Story: Jake Owen Tweets From Vegas “Gunshots!!! Vegas. Pray to God. Love you Pearl.

During his story, he told of a guy named Mike who was shot that day. When Mike was in the hospital recovering from a shot to the leg, President Trump and his wife came to visit. When Jake heard that Mike was at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Vegas “because he loved Jake Owen,” Jake couldn’t help but get Mike’s number and facetime him. He had to meet him. So that’s exactly what he did. And January 18th, before Jake’s hometown show in Orlando with K92.3, he took Mike and mikes friend Cory (who if you listen closely to the video, Jake reveals is the EMT who saved Mike’s life after getting shot) out to dinner. Jake even said felt the bullet still in Mike’s leg! Then he brought Mike on stage in front of a full house and shared Mike’s story with the crowd. Watch below…

Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum & Russel Dickerson Announce Tour

Another summer of amazing concerts! This is no exception. Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum are hitting the road and they are bringing country newcomer Russell Dickerson out on tour with them.

“For us as a band, being out on the road together is where it all comes to life,” Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley said in a release. “Darius is one of our closest friends, and so we just feel really excited to get to share this tour and those memories on and off stage with him.”

“Reuniting this summer and heading back out on the road with my friends Lady Antebellum feels like a home away from home,” Rucker added. “It’s going to be an incredible summer.”

CMT reports that together, all three acts have amassed 16 No. 1s, 24 Top 10 hits, and eight Grammy wins.

Jacksonville Bakery Sends Seven “Turnovers” To Ben Roethlisberger

This is hilarious. I lived in Jacksonville for five years when the Jags weren’t very good – we spent most of the time in the end zone party zone – but now that the Jags have got a little fire under them, they’ve definitely gained some attention.

Cinotti’s Bakery in Jacksonville is a popular local bakery there – known for their custom cakes, etc. and they’ve just gained national attention for their funny antic of sending seven turnovers to Ben Roethlisberger “in exchange for the quarterback’s own seven turnovers in the Steelers’ pair of losses to the Jaguars this season.”

Dierks Bentley Taking On Mountain Man Persona For New Album, The Mountain

Well, hello there Dierks Bentley! It’s been a little bit since Dierks Bentley’s last album, Black, came out and we now have something to look forward too! Dierks announced that he will have a new album, The Mountain, coming out very soon and he has even realeased the first single called “Woman, Amen” from it. The song is very Dierks Bentley sounding… you can listen below. He will also be appearing on The Ellen Show tonight to debut his new song on TV. But what we REALLY want to talk about, is that beard!! Dierks is looking all mountain-man like and it suits him! What do you think?

Creator Of “The Hills” Announces New CMT Unscripted Show Called “Music City”

Five country artists on the rise may be getting their big break later this year when they star in CMT’s new unscripted series  Music City. The new series is created by the same person who did  The Hills on MTV a few years ago. This series will show these 5 up-and-comers and the struggle to balance their love lives with their career goals.  Us Weekly reports that the cast includes a husband and wife who moved with their 2-year-old to Nashville to pursue their musical dreams and a single gal named Alisa who relocated from L.A., despite having no formal musical training and a family that thinks she’s making a big mistake. Sounds interesting enough. It’s definitely not going to be like Jersey Shore or those other shows where people live in the same house and get drunk every night and go to clubs… so that’s a plus, right?

Music City premieres March 1 at 10 p.m. ET.

Kenny Chesney Leaves Long Time Record Label, Sony Music Nashville

Kenny Chesney is shacking things up in Nashville and starting the year off a little different than he has in the past 22 years. He is leaving his longtime record label, Sony Music Nashville, to sign with Warner Brothers.

“It’s a big deal to change labels,” the superstar from East Tennessee says. “To me, music is only complete when it gets to the fans and becomes part of their lives. The people at Warner understand my commitment to that idea, and they’re just as committed to those ideals as I am.”

Kenny’s been with Sony since the mid-nineties, scoring his first top-ten hit on the label in 1995 with “Fall in Love.” His most recent studio album for Sony,  Cosmic Hallelujah, is up for the Best Country Album Grammy later this month.

Kenny’s new music will be released under the Blue Chair Records/Warner Bros. Records imprint. So far, there’s no word on when a new album for Warner will come.

Jason Aldean Shares The “Not So Pretty” Side Of Parenting

Jason Aldean has been a dad for quite a few years now as he has two teenage daughters. But he and his wife Brittany just had their first child which was a little boy, Memphis. If you follow Brittany on Instagram she posts almost daily, adorable pictures of baby Memphis. Like this…

One thing that she doesn’t show is pictures of Memphis on his bad days. Jason Aldean calls her out by posting a photo of his son when he is NOT in a good mood and captions it “ @brittanyaldean  is always posting pics of Memphis that are good, But this is actually the stuff she doesnt post.  #reallife   #hangry” oh man… the joys of a newborn. So bittersweet. More sweet than bitter but you get the idea.
